Creating opportunities for deserving Hoosiers

Please join Indiana University’s Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies for its inaugural scholarship dinner and fireside chat with former US Secretary of Defense and Indiana University alumnus Dr. Robert M. Gates.

The event will help kick off the Indiana University Bicentennial by celebrating the one-year anniversary of the school’s naming and paying tribute to the late Senator Richard G. Lugar.

When: Tuesday, December 3 at 6pm (reception followed by dinner)
Where: University Tower Ballroom, 850 W. Michigan St., Indianapolis, IN 46202

During his government career, Dr. Gates served eight presidents from both parties. He is the only Secretary of Defense to be asked to remain in that office by a newly elected president. Author of several books, including Duty: Memoirs of a Secretary at War, Dr. Gates will take part in a fireside chat with Carol Giacomo, New York Times editorial board writer covering foreign affairs and Indiana University Poynter Center Chair.
