HLS advising offers regular optional drop-in hours each week. These online drop-ins are good for more pointed questions that take no more than 10-15 minutes to answer. Some good topics include:
- Double checking your enrollments
- Adding a minor in an HLS area
- Troubleshooting permissions
- Checking prerequisites for a course
Drop-ins work on a first come, first serve basis. Note: Advisors will stop letting people into the zoom drop-ins 10 minutes prior to the end of their drop-in block (normally 2 hours).
These optional drop-ins are not a good mode for answering more complex questions, such as long-term planning, enrollment planning, adding or dropping a major, planning for studying abroad, or completing ROTC forms. Those types of conversations benefit from a longer, more focused meeting. Please schedule a regular appointment with an HLS advisor (George Andrei, Olga Bueva, Liz McHugh, and Dale Spicer) for these meeting topics.
Normally, the HLS advisors will offer online drop-ins weekly during the following times, found in the Student Appointment Scheduler:
- Tuesday 1-3
- Friday 9-12 and 1-3
We look forward to helping you with your advising needs!
