Our broad, transdisciplinary approach is particularly beneficial for doctoral students, who can also pursue minors and certificates in a diversity of fields.

Supporting Fulbright alum & Peace Corps volunteers

The Hamilton Lugar School is committed to supporting Fulbright Program alumni and Peace Corps volunteers whose experiences were impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

We are proud to join IU's O'Neill School of Public & Environmental Affairs and other esteemed institutions such as Johns Hopkins, George Washington, UVA, and Syracuse in offering application fee waivers and 50% reduction in tuition for Fulbright Scholars and Peace Corps volunteers pursuing MA degrees beginning Summer/Fall 2020.

Funding opportunities

The Hamilton Lugar School and Indiana University teach more than 80 languages—the most in the United States. We also lead the country in available Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowships. FLAS fellows receive generous stipend and tuition benefits. These prestigious awards support the development of cultural fluency and global expertise in nearly every area of the world, including Russia, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
