HLS in Mexico

Program Highlights:

  • 1 week in Mexico City and 1 week in San Cristobal
  • Briefings with development agencies including USAID, UNDP, World Bank and visits with development organizations like Escalera, Cantara Azul, and Natik
  • Tours through cultural sites such as Templo Mayor, Bellas Artes, the Frida Kahlo Museum the Church of Guadalupe, and the Chamula Church

Requirements:

To participate in this course, students must:

  • Enroll in INTL I300 or INTL I500 in the spring of 2024
  • Participate in 3 in-person, pre-departure orientation sessions on April 5, April 12, and April 19
  • Attend a 2-part crash course in Spanish (students can test out of this)

Cost: The fee for this program is $2000 and includes: lodging, all breakfasts, some lunches and dinners, honoraria for speakers, transportation within Mexico City and San Cristobal, visits to cultural sites, health insurance, staffing, incidentals

Students are expected to pay for the following: flights, some meals

Students who participate in HLS faculty-led study abroad programming will also be assessed a one-time HLS International Program fee of $225, which is separate from the estimated cost of the trip.
