Students who participate in the HLS Internship Program may qualify for funding through the Dean’s Scholarship. Students completing a domestic and/or remote internship can receive up to $1500, and students completing an international internship can receive up to $2500.
Students may enroll in SGIS X373 to receive academic credit for your internship. This credit may apply to your degree requirements.

This is an entry-level position designed to provide you with valuable experience in research and standards development. You will work alongside professionals who will guide you through various tasks, giving you a chance to learn about the intersection of blockchain technology and climate policy.

Indiana Legal Services, Inc. (ILS) is a statewide, not-for-profit organization that provides free legal services to eligible clients in civil cases through 8 branch offices. ILS is funded by the Legal Services Corporation, Indiana Civil Legal Aid Fund, United Ways, Area Agencies on Aging, Lilly Endowment and approximately 60 other funding sources. The Immigration and Language Rights Center (ILRC) is a statewide program within ILS. About the Internship
This internship position will assist the ILRC remotely and, if possible, work at the ILS Bloomington Branch Office, 214 S. College Avenue, 2nd Floor, Bloomington, IN 47404.
The selected intern will provide support to the ILRC Project Director and attorneys and staff of the ILS Bloomington Branch Office. The intern will be supervised by the ILRC Project Director and the Managing Attorney of the Bloomington Office.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct country conditions research for clients’ cases assigned by the ILRC Project Director.
Assist in completing appropriate applications for immigration benefits with the assistance of an ILRC paralegal and under the supervision of the ILRC Project Director.
Assist with ILRC clients based in counties served by the Bloomington office.
Assist with planning and operating ILRC events.
Compile a list of organizations and entities serving immigrants and LEP populations based in Bloomington.
Help with updating and re-designing ILRC PowerPoint presentations on legal matters.

About LSSSE:
As part of the Indiana University Center for Postsecondary Research, LSSSE has been a provider of research products and services centered on the study of the law student experience since 2004. Through our consulting services, we help law schools maximize the usefulness of their survey data and their assessment activities. Through our research functions, we are a source of macro-level, empirical information about the law student experience.
Since 2004, 200 law schools in the U.S. (181), Canada (17), and Australia (2) have administered the LSSSE Survey, eliciting over 350,000 student responses—the largest such dataset in existence.

About the Internship:
The Law School Survey of Student Engagement (LSSSE) is looking for a motivated, creative intern interested in analyzing trends relating to the law student experience and using LSSSE data to contribute to larger discussions about legal education and diversity and inclusion. The successful candidate must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in the area of international studies, law, public affairs or related field and expect to work 10–15 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Conducting research and data analysis to identify trends relating to the law student experience
Assisting (and collaborating with) the director and project manager in drafting commentaries, blog posts, and scholarly articles
Creating content for the LSSSE website and social media.
Assisting in law school recruitment and client relationship management
Developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive, strategic communication plan for clients
Using LSSSE data to inform discussions of legal education, particularly the student experience
Remaining abreast of trends and issues in legal education
Job requirements
The successful candidate must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in the area of international studies, law, public affairs or related field, and have:
