All students directly admitted to the Hamilton Lugar School will be considered for a Direct Admission Scholarship. The admission committee considers, selective student scholarship essays, interviews, academic achievement, and extracurricular activities in awarding these scholarships.

The Shreve Scholars Program provides undergraduate scholarships for direct-admit students from the state of Indiana. It also supports graduate scholarships for in-state Wells Scholars who pursue their fifth year in the Hamilton Lugar School's combined B.A./M.A. program in international studies.

Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowships

The Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowships are funded by the United States Department of Education in support of graduate and undergraduate students studying less commonly taught languages and cultures, in particular, those considered to be of critical interest to the United States. They are intended to promote the training of students who plan to make their careers in college or university teaching, government service, or other employment where knowledge of foreign languages and cultures is a prerequisite for success.

Marian vonLackum Mack Doctoral Student Fellowship

Established by P.A. Mack to honor his late wife, Marian vonLackum Mack, who lived her life with a keen interest in the study of foreign relations, which led her to consider a career in foreign service with the U.S. State Department. All graduate students pursuing degrees in the Hamilton Lugar School are eligible for this award.

The Polish Studies Center offers a research fellowship for graduate students in the first two years of their study at Indiana University. The fellowship is open to MA and Ph.D. students who want to investigate the possibility of further research in Poland.
