During Emma’s time at IU, she has engaged in climate and environmental research through an internship at the International Livestock Research Institute in Nairobi, Kenya, a remote internship with the Theophrastus Research Institute based on Lesvos Island, Greece, and a community forestry and conflict research assistantship with the Ostrom Workshop. She has also studied food systems abroad in Ecuador, Malawi, and Spain, conducting a research project on the informal transfer of knowledge among women farmers in agricultural systems and communities. At IU, Emma is a Co-Chair and original member of HLS Global Development Consulting. She has completed projects with Reclaim Childhood in Jordan and The Hijabi Mentorship Project in Kwale County, Kenya for monitoring and evaluation and funding landscaping, respectively. Emma is also a IU delegate to the UNFCCC’s COP28 and a Resident Assistant.
