Thanks to IU's Arabic Flagship Program, Sachin focuses on Yemeni and Egyptian colloquial Arabic alongside Modern Standard Arabic. As a 2023 Critical Language Scholarship Arabic student in Amman (Jordan), he also has experience with South Levantine colloquial Arabic. He is a 2023-2024 and 2022-2023 FLAS Fellow with the Islamic Studies Program, following previous support from African Studies. Each fall semester, Sachin represents IU Bloomington in Qatar Debate's US Universities Arabic Debate Championship, engaging in Arabic with diverse socio-political issues. Each spring semester, Sachin is a committee chair at IndianaMUNC, the annual high school conference by Indiana Model United Nations. He enjoys listening to world music, ranging from Mexican regional and Tajiki pop to Algerian acoustic and South Indian classical. Sachin is a former peer mentor of the HLS Living-Learning Center.
