The International Center

Be a part of a team of diverse individuals who serve and support Indiana’s public, private, and civic global objectives!

The International Center works in collaboration with businesses, organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, and individual citizens to expand Indiana’s global interest through a variety of programs and services. The Center recruits motivated and engaged interns who can use their skills and knowledge to support the mission and values of the organization and increase Indiana’s global reach, making it a vibrant place to live and work. Every spring, summer, and fall, the International Center offers unpaid internships to undergraduate and graduate students seeking an opportunity to connect with local and international leaders, improve professional skills, and work in a fast-paced international environment.

The International Center’s current office hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with additional remote availability during traditional work hours. The typical intern work schedule averages 15-20 hours per week for fall and spring terms and 20-30 hours per week during the summer, typically 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

All students with a strong interest in gaining professional and international experience are welcome to apply. Our preferred qualifications for successful interns are:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Strong research aptitude and/or skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Willing to be versatile and flexible, with a self-starter work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff members, volunteers, and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
