Nathan Feltman is president and CEO of IBJ Media, parent of Indianapolis Business Journal and The Indiana Lawyer. Previously, he was the CEO and co-owner of Genesis Healthcare Services, LLC. and Home Health Depot, Inc., a home medical equipment company. Feltman served as a partner at the law firms Faegre Baker Daniels and Ice Miller in Indianapolis, Altheimer & Gray in Chicago, and as an associate at the Moscow, Russia office of Baker & McKenzie. Feltman’s legal practice focused on representing public and private companies with their merger and acquisition activities, as well as advising local governments on public-private partnerships and economic development strategies.
Appointed by Governor Mitch Daniels, Feltman served as Secretary of Commerce for the State of Indiana and CEO of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) from 2006-2008. From 2005-2006, he served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel to the IEDC.
Feltman has taught as an adjunct law professor at Indiana University McKinney School of Law and served as the National Chairman of the Board of the Indiana University Alumni Association. He serves on the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Indianapolis, the Liberty Fund, Inc., the Indiana Chapter of the ALS Association, and the Board of Law Examiners’ Committee on Character and Fitness.
In the past, Feltman has served on a number of boards, including BioCrossroads, the Indiana Leadership Forum, the Indiana State Chamber, the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee, and the International Center of Indianapolis. He served on the Indiana Business Law Survey Commission for five years.
Feltman earned a B.S. from IU’s Kelley School of Business and a B.A. in political science from IU’s College of Arts & Sciences. He earned law degrees from IU McKinney School of Law and the Institute of State & Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia.
