Eligibility

Who Can Apply?

The Hamilton Lugar School welcomes exchange students from our partner universities around the world. If your home university has an exchange agreement with IU, you may be eligible to spend a semester or academic year studying in Bloomington.

Basic Eligibility Requirements

• Enrollment at Partner Institution: You must be a currently enrolled, full-time student in good standing who has completed at least one year of study at your home university
• Academic Standing: You must be in good academic standing with a GPA above 2.75
• English Proficiency: Since most courses are taught in English, students must provide proof of English language ability (see language requirements below)
• Nomination: Your home university must formally nominate you for our exchange
