Your application will require the following:
- Information about you 2 short answer questions, as follows
- Describe how you decided to apply for this program? How will participating in this program contribute to your personal, professional, and academic goals?
- Tell us about a time you demonstrated both flexibility and independence and what you learned from the experience
- Name and contact information for one academic reference
- Be sure to let them know in advance that you are listing them as a reference
- Your resume
- You will be asked to provide passport information if you have it. If you do not yet have a passport, you may still apply to study abroad!
Applying in Via
- You must submit both the application and all associated forms by the stated deadline
Pay attention to study abroad deadlines:
Sept 1: Apply to spend spring semester abroad
Nov 1: Apply for spring semester short-term programs
Feb 1: Apply for summer programs, fall semester abroad, or a full academic year abroad
Watch your email for your acceptance letter—congratulations! Complete the next form to confirm your spot in the Program
- Nominations: Once you’ve confirmed your spot, the Hamilton Lugar School Education Abroad office will nominate you to study abroad.
- Apply to Host University: While this is not a competitive application, you will need to complete the required forms to enroll in the host university for a semester!
- Short term programs: Your Hamilton Lugar School faculty will provide guidance on necessary preparations
- Internships abroad: Work with internship host organization (Roots, Global Mamas or Interns Abroad HQ) on next steps
- Semester abroad: Work with host university to secure housing, apply for your visa, and select courses!
